Description
This is a farmhouse, dating to the late 16th or early 17th century, with additions from the early 19th century and around 1860. The later walls are rough cast render, while the original timber-frame sections are plastered and feature panelled decoration. A painted brick lean-to is attached to the right-hand side. The building comprises a two-storey range with a hipped roof and an end stack to the west, alongside a one-storey and attic range with a central ridge stack, following a two-unit plan. It is possible the original building was initially single-storey. The main entrance is through a closed gabled porch containing a panelled door and a rectangular fanlight. Windows have flush wooden frames and small-paned horizontal sliding sashes - three on the ground floor and two on the first floor. A dormer window with a horizontal sliding sash is located on the right-hand side. The interior of the original section includes two inglenook hearths, a boxed staircase, and an exposed timber-frame with a three-bay queen strut roof.
