Description

Worsted Lodge Farmhouse is a late 18th or early 19th century farmhouse, with later 19th century extensions and 20th century alterations. It is built of buff gault bricks and has a plain tiled mansard roof with end parapets on kneelers, one ridge stack between the front and rear ranges, and an end stack. The original design was an L-shape, with a service wing extended and a later range built between the two original wings. The property has two storeys and attics. The symmetrical front elevation features three recessed sash windows with twelve panes each, two dating from the mid 19th century. There are also two 20th century canted bays and a brick porch at ground floor level, along with two dormers. Inside, the original open-string staircase has square balusters and slender turned newels.
