Description

Brookhampton Hall is a house dating from the early 18th century, with 19th century and later alterations. It features a timber-framed structure that is plastered, with a pantiled brick plinth and red plain tiled roofs. The building has two storeys and attics, arranged in a three-unit plan, with a one-storey and attic kitchen range to the right, which may have originally included a cross passage. This kitchen range was extended in the 19th century to include service rooms.

The main range consists of three bays with roughcast plastered panels, an enriched plat band, and marks indicating where an oval plaque was once located. There is a wooden moulded eaves cornice. The entrance features a 19th century door with fluted pilasters in a wooden doorcase, topped by a bracketed flat canopy. The ground floor has two twelve-paned hung sash windows that are rebated for shutters, while the first floor has three similar hung sash windows. The building also includes three hipped dormer windows. The kitchen range has one casement window on the ground floor and one horizontal sliding sash window on the first floor, along with two horizontal sliding sash gabled dormer windows. There is a rear stack on the left and a rectangular planned ridge stack on the right.

Inside, the hall features an early 18th century moulded cornice and boxed beams, sealed hearths, and early 18th century two-panelled doors with original hinges. There is also a 19th century staircase and other details.
