Description
Anno Domini Cottage is an early 17th-century cottage located on Church Street in Thriplow. The east gable features the painted inscription 'Anno Domini 1687' on plaster. The building is timber-framed and roughcast rendered, topped with a thatched roof that has a ridge stack and a side stack to the north. It is one storey with an attic and has a long range that jetties out over the street, showcasing exposed joists and two curved brackets. The south elevation includes two boarded doors, four ground floor windows of various sizes, and two casement dormer windows. Inside, the chimneys have been rebuilt, and there are stop-chamfered ceiling beams. A report by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments in 1950 provides further details.
