Description
Nos. 10 and 12 Mortlock Street are cottages that have been converted into two dwellings, dating from the 18th century to the early 19th century. They are timber framed, with plaster rendering and a thatched roof made of combed wheat reed, featuring a grey brick ridge stack and a later stack on the left side. The buildings have three bays and a lobby entry, with an outshut at the rear. They stand two storeys tall and have three early 19th-century, sixteen-pane flush frame hung sashes. The contemporary doorway to the lobby has a reeded doorcase and a narrow hood supported by cut brackets. There is a boarded door to no. 10 at the right-hand end. Additionally, there is a single-storey lean-to at the rear, which is slated and dates from the 19th century.
