Description

Alma Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It features a plastered timber frame and has 19th-century flint, pebblestone, and brick quoins on the gable end facing the road. The roof is thatched with long straw and includes an original gault brick ridge stack, along with a 19th-century end stack. The building has a plan consisting of three bays and a lobby entry, with the gable end oriented towards the road. It is one storey high with an attic and has three 19th-century gable dormers. The windows are casements with small panels, and there are two doorways that are sheltered by 20th-century porches.
