Description
The Blue Lion is a public house located on Main Street in Hardwick. It dates back to the 17th century, with some additions made in the 20th century. The building features a timber-framed structure that is cased in brick and has a plaster render finish. It has a red pantile roof with an end stack on the left side and a ridge stack near the center. The Blue Lion is one storey high with an attic and has a three-unit plan, including one-storey outbuildings to the north that are integrated into the main building. The front has three ground floor casement windows, a sealed door on the left, and a boarded door on the right. Inside, there are 17th-century cased ceiling beams and an inglenook hearth.
