Description

Thatchways is a small cottage dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with 20th-century alterations and an addition. It has a timber frame and is roughcast rendered, featuring a thatched half-hipped roof and a pantiled outshut. The cottage has two 20th-century brick stacks and is one storey with an attic, designed with a lobby entry and a three-unit plan, including a single-storey service room behind the stack. There is a flat extension to the north and the main entrance, with two casement windows on the right-hand side. Inside, the cottage has an open hearth, torched plaster between the rafters, and chamfered ceiling beams.
