Description
The Bells is a house that was formerly an inn, dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with roughcast rendering and a brick plinth. The roof is half hipped and covered with plain tiles from the 20th century. There is a rectangular brick ridge stack made of red brick, which has 19th century gault brick upper courses, and a tall red brick gable end stack on the north side. The building has two storeys, with a single storey kitchen range to the north and a rear outshut. The entrance is located to the right of the center of the main range and is sheltered by a 20th century open gabled porch. There are four casement windows on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The building was previously known as The Six Bells public house and was recorded in 1801.
