Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 16th century, with a kitchen wing added in the 18th century and a 19th-century extension to the east. The building is timber-framed, with plaster and pebbledash, along with 19th-century gault brick and reused ashlar. It features plain tile roofs, with a slate roof on the eastern extension. The farmhouse is two storeys high, consisting of a main range with two timber-framed bays and a jettied crosswing to the west, while the eastern brick extension likely replaced the original service wing.
On the south elevation, the crosswing displays moulded bargeboards and a jetty bressumer. The main entrance, which is a lean-to, is located at the angle with the main range and features a 19th-century panelled door. The ground floor has three windows, including one horizontal sliding sash window and a three-light casement window with iron glazing bars. On the first floor, there is one similar casement window and three horizontal sliding sash windows. The west side has a rebuilt red brick stack, along with two ridge stacks.
Inside, the crosswing boasts double-ogee moulded ceiling beams on the first and second floors, along with a chamfered diagonal beam. The main range features cross beams with wide or hollow chamfers and roll moulding.
