Description

Gatehouse Lodge is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century lean-to on the left side. It is constructed from timber framing and plaster, topped with a plain tile roof. The building features a tall square red brick ridge stack and stands two storeys high. The gable facing the street jetties at eaves height, while a bay to the east has been demolished and replaced by a brick gable wall. On the ground floor, there is a fixed-light window and a boarded door with a half-glazed door in the lean-to. The first floor has a small three-light oriel window with ovolo mullions and sealed side lights. Inside, the cottage showcases exposed timber framing and a sealed hearth.
