Description
Horseheath Lodge is a house built around 1815-1825, located on the east side of Dene Road. It is constructed of gault brick and features a parapetted slate roof. The building is a single range with domestic offices to the northeast and stands two storeys tall. The principal front has a six-window range with recessed hung sashes of twelve panes, each framed with stone surrounds and drip moulds that have return stops. The entry bay includes narrow hall lights on either side of the doorway and a window on the first floor. This house was built for Stanlake Batson, who trained racehorses, and he passed away in 1857.
