Description
Numbers 4, 6, and 8 are almshouses that were rebuilt in 1877 for Thomas Bailey and have recently been converted into three dwellings. The buildings are constructed from gault brick with red brick dressings and feature pantile roofs. Each building has three ridge stacks, each with a pair of diagonal shafts. They are single-storey structures with saw-tooth brick eaves cornices and shaped barge boards. The roofs extend to form porches supported on brackets, leading to six boarded doors. There are six two-light casement windows with transoms set in cambered brick arches. Additionally, there are three limestone plaques detailing the building's history, including one that states, "Almshouses formerly stood on site were erected by a member of the Willys family AD 1663-6." The property also includes four original wrought iron garden gates and is grouped with The Old Rectory for its historical significance.
