Description
Mill House is a house that was originally a house and cottage, dating from the early 18th century, with the cottage likely built around the same time. There have been 19th century and later alterations. The building is timber-framed, plaster rendered, and has a tiled, half-hipped roof. It features an original red brick ridge stack that has been repaired, with a recessed panel between two shafts. The house has two storeys and an attic, with two hipped dormers. It follows a lobby entry plan and has three casement windows on the first floor, dating from the 19th to 20th century, and two windows at the ground floor on either side of the doorway, which is located in a later gabled porch leading to the lobby entry. Adjoining to the left is a cottage, probably of a similar date, which is also timber-framed, rendered, and tiled, featuring a red brick ridge stack with a 19th century flue added. This cottage is one storey with an attic and has three hipped dormers.
