Description
Dove Cottages is a building that was originally a dovecote, now serving as a house. It dates from the 18th century and features a timber-framed structure rendered on a high brick plinth, topped with a tiled, hipped roof that has gablets. The building has a rectangular plan and consists of two storeys with attics, including two gabled dormers and casement windows. There is no visible framing, and the roof's description suggests an 18th-century date, although the main posts are made of heavy scantling and may be reused. A lease from 1467 mentions a dovecote at this location, and the current building resembles 18th-century dovecotes found in South Street, Comberton, and High Street, Coton.
