Description

Old Thatch is a cottage that was formerly a public house, likely dating from the 17th century, but has been significantly restored and altered, mainly in the 20th century. The building is timber framed and rendered, with some weatherboarding on the gable end. It features a thatched roof made of reed, topped with an original red brick ridge stack, although some courses have been rebuilt. The cottage has a gable end facing the road and is one storey high with an attic, which includes one dormer. The windows are irregularly placed and all date from the 20th century, consisting of two four-light casements with leaded glass. The building is included for its group value.
