Description

Abbey Terrace, which includes No 105 High Street, was built in 1863 and features two storeys in a shallow E-plan layout. The terrace is constructed of gault brick with plain tile roofs and has Ketton stone window and door architraves. It displays a brick dentil eaves cornice and has side stacks to the wings, as well as two symmetrical ridge stacks with tall diagonal and square shafts. The front facade is notable for its three kneed parapet gables, which are topped with stone copings and finials. The entrance features three plank doors, with the central door having a shouldered architrave, while the flanking doors are sheltered by stone bracketed hoods. The ground floor has six 3-light, mullioned and transomed windows with hung sashes, and the first floor features a range of 9, 1, 2, and 3-light mullioned windows. Abbey Terrace, along with the other buildings surrounding Abbey Green, contributes significantly to the architectural and historic character of the area.
