Description
Foxearth is a 17th and 18th century cottage consisting of three bays. It features a 19th century lean-to on the north side and a modern extension to the west. The building is timber-framed, rendered, and includes brick elements, topped with a thatched roof that is hipped to the west. There are 18th century ridge stacks located at both the east and west ends. The cottage is one storey high with attics, and it has three dormers, one of which is gabled and located on the west side. At the ground floor, there are three horizontal sliding sash windows. A pantiled lean-to is present at the rear.
Inside, one bay, which is now the kitchen, remains from the original 17th century cottage, showcasing the original chamfered main beam and part of one truss. The two eastern bays are narrower and date from the 18th century, featuring slender framing with long straight bracing and a side purlin roof.
