Description
Somersham House and Bramston is an early 19th century rectory that includes a service wing, stable block, and a courtyard on the right side. The building is constructed of gault brick and features a hipped, low-pitched slate roof with boarded eaves. It has side and end stacks with shafts connected at the entablature. The front elevation consists of three bays, with the center bay slightly projecting. There is one sealed window opening and two hung sash windows with slender glazing bars on the first floor. The central doorway has a double recessed arch with a semi-circular head, leading to panelled double doors topped with a fanlight. The garden front displays four similar hung sash windows on the first floor and four full-length casement windows on the ground floor. The adjoining two-storey service wing is also made of gault brick and has a gabled, low-pitched slate roof, featuring three hung sash windows on the first floor. The coach-house and stable block are connected to the service wing by a shaped gault brick wall.
