Description

Manor Farmhouse is a late 16th century L-plan farmhouse, with the main range rebuilt in the 19th century. The cross-wing, made of red brick in English bond, features limestone dressings around the windows. The roof is plain tiled and has a 19th century red brick stack with grouped shafts on a square base. The gable end has a parapet on kneelers, with moulded stone coping and a ball finial. The building has two storeys and an attic, with the gable end containing one sealed lancet window in the attic and one original three-light casement window on each floor. These windows have square heads and moulded labels with return stops, set in hollow moulded jambs and mullions. The rear of the cross-wing is 19th century brick, while the main range is also red brick with gault brick quoins and stone window surrounds, some of which incorporate 16th century stone. The roof is plain tiled with a ridge stack. The main range has two storeys, featuring one two-light and one three-light casement window at the first floor, both with moulded labels and return stops, and one similar three-light casement window at the ground floor. The entrance is located in the angle, with a brick porch that has a hipped, tiled roof. Inside, the cross-wing has a chamfered main beam and an 18th century door with six raised and fielded panels. The main range also has a chamfered main beam.
