Description
Kingcroft, located at 87 Earith High Street, is a farmhouse dating from 1812, as indicated on the key block. It has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys tall with an attic, featuring a single-storey kitchen range on the left side. The building is constructed of gault brick and has a modern tile mansard roof with parapet gables and end stacks.
The façade includes three flat-roofed dormer windows with horizontal sliding sashes. On the first floor, there are two hung sash windows with margin glazing bars set in segmental arches, which flank a central semi-circular arched sash window that has a similar arched head and key block. The ground floor features two hung sash windows with margin glazing bars in cambered and gauged brick arches, flanking a central door. The doorcase is adorned with fluted pilasters, a plain entablature, and a projecting cornice, and the door itself is a four-panelled design with flush panelled reveals.
There is a parlour extension that was added in 1894, as noted on the rainwater head. Inside, the property boasts an open-string staircase with a carved newel post from 1894, original six-panelled and two-panelled doors, and a small hand basin located in a niche beside the garden door.
