Description

Banklin Foods is a building dating from 1839. It is constructed of gault brick with low-pitched slate roofs. A prominent feature is the central wooden bell tower, which has an octagonal arcade, a lead roof, and a finial. Deeply boarded eaves run around the building. The street facade is arranged with seven bays, with the central three bays projecting and featuring a pedimented roof. The windows are recessed hung sash windows set within cambered, gauged brick arches, appearing within recessed brick panels. A main side entry is present. Kelly’s Directory of 1940 provides a reference to the building’s use.
