Description
Stoneleigh is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, dressed stone ashlar, freestone, and yellow brick, topped with a Welsh slated roof featuring gable and facade parapets. The house has ashlar gable end stacks and is two storeys high with attics, presenting a symmetrical facade of five bays. The parapet and plinth have chamfered copings, and there is a plain band between the floors. The central doorway features a round-headed arch with slightly projecting imposts, an inner wooden architrave, a round-headed fanlight with glazing bars, and a six raised-and-fielded panelled door. The ground floor has four twelve-paned recessed hung sash windows, while the first floor has five such windows, all with flat arches and stone cills. Notable 18th-century details include panelling, doors, cupboards, and window shutters.
