Description
Number 9, Broadway is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of Broadway. It is three storeys high and constructed of gault brick with horizontal stone bands separating the floors. A small stone cornice with a blocking course sits above the top floor. The building has five windows on the top floor, four on the first floor, and a carriageway with a semi-elliptical arch on the left side of the ground floor. A doorway, featuring simple pilasters and an entablature, is centrally positioned and flanked by large windows that have been altered to create shop windows. Number 9 forms a group with numbers 1, 7 to 13 (odd), 17, and 21 to 39 (odd), including the adjoining shop at number 1.
