Description
No. 10 Owls End is a 16th-century cottage with later additions. It is timber-framed and plaster rendered, featuring a thatched roof that is hipped on the right side. The cottage has a ridge stack with grouped diagonally set shafts on a square base. It is one storey with attics and includes two later dormers. On either side of the entry, there are two modern casement windows and a modern gabled porch. To the right, there is a 17th-century dairy bay addition, also timber-framed and plaster rendered. To the left, a 18th-century extension is made of brick and rendered, with a thatched roof and gable end parapet, and an end stack. This extension is one storey with an attic, featuring one dormer with a modern casement and a similar window at ground level. Inside, the ground floor room has original panelling below the dado and cupboards flanking the fireplace. There is also a late 17th-century or early 18th-century rear wing made of brick, thatched, and featuring a dentil eaves cornice, which is two storeys high.
