Description
The Limes is a late 18th century and early 19th century house that includes a 17th century timber-framed range at the rear. It is built of red brick, featuring diaper brickwork on the left-hand gable end, and has a stuccoed facade. The roof is modern with tiles, a parapet, and tumbled gables, along with end stacks. The house is two stories high with attics and has three flat-roofed dormers that have dentilled cornices. There are two-storey bow windows with hung sashes and glazing bars arranged in tripartite lights, each flanked by reeded pilasters. The central doorway is adorned with a doorcase featuring reeded pilaster boss enrichments and a dentilled cornice, leading to an eight-panelled door. Inside, there are similar pilasters in the curved bays, reeded cases for the shutters and doors, and one late 18th century mantelpiece that is not original to the house.
