Description

The Mount is an 18th-century house, with early 19th-century and later additions. Constructed of local brown brick, the building has slate and modern interlocking tile roofs. It is two storeys high, with a wing to the left and a rear range featuring a two-storey bay window facing west. The north facade is from the 18th century and incorporates a stone-coped parapet. There are three recessed twelve-paned hung sash windows on the first floor, set within cambered gauged brick arches. Two similar windows are on the ground floor, flanking a half-glazed door with a small, pseudo-pedimented rectangle below a flat arch. The house is built upon a surviving section of an ancient sea bank. The Victoria County History of Cambridgeshire records the property on page 238.
