Description
Rookery Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is built of red brick in Flemish bond on a plinth and features a steeply pitched slate roof with tumbled gable end parapets. The building has end stacks and a ridge stack on the rear range, and it is designed in a T-plan with cellars, two storeys, and attics. There are bands at the eaves height and between the storeys on both the front and rear ranges. The front has five flush frame hung sash windows with glazing bars in open boxing, each with sills and cambered arches. A central doorway, accessed by three segmental steps, has a flat hood supported by moulded brackets, a later panelled door, and a rectangular fanlight. The gable ends of the front range feature smaller windows with gauged brick arches. On the north side of the rear range, there are three first-floor windows, including one casement with leaded lights and two fixed upper lights.
