Description
The Chequers Inn is a house dating from the late 18th century, with a 19th-century addition to the north. It is constructed of brown brick in English bond, topped with a cement pantiled roof and features end stacks. The building has two storeys and includes three hung sash windows, each with sixteen panes, which have sills and cambered arches. There are stepped red brick voussoirs above two windows that contain mid-19th-century hung sashes, as well as a doorway with a four-panel flush door. The late 19th-century addition to the north is also made of brown brick and has a cement pantiled roof. This section has two storeys, with four recessed hung sash windows that have glazing bars, complete with sills and red brick arches.
