Description

No. 6 Churchgate Street is a house and shop, originally built around 1840 as a pair of houses. The building is constructed of grey gault brick, with a hipped slate roof and two ridge stacks. It has two storeys and a range of four recessed sash windows with glazing bars. The doorway to the house has an original doorcase featuring narrow pilaster strips and a plain entablature. The door itself is of flush panels, with a rectangular fanlight above. The building is included in the listing primarily for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding streetscape.
