Description
Trumpington Hall is a building dating from around 1710, which was heightened and re-roofed in the early 19th century, with various additions and alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is half H-shaped and constructed of red brick, featuring three storeys and eleven bays arranged in a 2:7:2 pattern, with the end wings set slightly forward. There are plat bands at the first and second floor levels. The ground floor windows have been altered and all have sashes with glazing bars dating from 1826. The south end of the building includes a projecting three-sided bay and is topped with hipped slate roofs. Inside, there are many notable features, including the "Justice Hall," which has reset panelling from around 1600 and an early 18th-century dado. The building also boasts a good original staircase, along with various other panelling from the 18th and 19th centuries, as well as fireplace surrounds of different dates.
