Description

The Church of St Edward, King and Martyr is a Grade II* listed building located on St Edward's Passage. It features stone rubble construction with cement rendering and some dressings made of Barnack stone. The tower dates from the early 13th century, while the nave arcades are from around 1400. The church includes North and South aisles, chancel arcades, and North and South chapels that were built in the mid-15th century, along with a notable 15th-century font. The church underwent restoration between 1858 and 1860, directed by G G Scott and R Brandon. Additionally, there is a vestry from 1846 and an early 16th-century oak pulpit.
