Description

The Bothy is a 16th or 17th century timber-framed house located on Prince Charles Avenue in Orsett. It features a mid-19th century east wing that creates two parallel ranges, with a gabled roof facing the road. The building has two storeys and attics, topped with a red plain tile roof. The 19th century wing includes a three-window range of double-hung vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars, all set beneath moulded labels. The central doorway is adorned with a rectangular fanlight and a hood supported by shaped brackets. The west range is faced in brick and has a single-storey wing added to the east in the 19th century.
