Description
The garden wall, two gate piers, a gate, and a wicket gate attached to Orsett House date from the early to mid-18th century. Constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, the structure features wrought iron gates. The central gate aligns with the rear entrance of the house and is flanked by decorative piers and an overthrow. There are two brick piers topped with stone copings and stone heraldic eagles. The walls return in an 'L' shape towards the house, although the wall on the west side has lean-to buildings that are not of special interest. A detached coach house to the west is also not of special interest. The wicket gate includes two fixed pilasters with scroll work and a decorative overthrow displaying the Coat of Arms of the County of Essex.
