Description

The Bridge, built in 1775 and attributed to Lancelot Brown, is a Grade I listed structure located in St Martins Without Burghley Park. This impressive ashlar bridge features three round arches and is adorned with stone balustrades that include couchant lions, crafted by Henry Gilbert of Stamford, at both ends. The bridge serves as a passage over the west end of the lake in Burghley Park, an area that was landscaped by Brown starting in 1756.
