Description
Bedford Hall, built around 1855 in a minimum Jacobean style, was constructed by the 9th Duke of Bedford as part of the Estate works at Thorney, likely designed by architect S.S. Teulon. The building is made of yellow brick with stone dressings and features a slate roof.
The main facade includes, from left to right, an advanced and gabled house (dated 1855 on the left side), a carpenter's shop with a larger gable on the right, saw mills topped with a small turret on its gabled front, and a smithy. Behind the carpenter's shop rises the water and sewage tank tower. Most of the windows are mullioned and transomed.
