Description
The Rectory of the Church of St Margaret, built in 1835, is a two-storey coursed stone house featuring ashlar dressings. It has a low-pitched hipped concrete tile double span roof with wide eaves and consists of five bays. The windows are sashes with glazing bars set in ashlar surrounds. The central doorway is adorned with ashlar pilasters and a cornice supported by pairs of console brackets, with the cornice extending into a string course. The door is panelled and topped with a semi-circular fanlight that includes bars. An ashlar buttress is located at the south-east corner, and there are ashlar end stacks. At the rear, there are sashes and a tall round-headed stair window. A 17th-century cross-wing that was recorded in 1926 has since been demolished.
