Description

This building, comprising numbers 26 and 27 within Peterborough Precincts, likely has an earlier core but features a 19th-century front elevation. It is two storeys high with attics. The building is constructed of stone. Notable features include diagonally set chimney stacks and three stepped Dutch gables, each with a single or two-light stone mullioned window. Two two-storey canted bays are positioned on either side of a central four-light window, framed by single two-light windows. A stone band runs along the heads of the windows. A central moulded doorway is flanked by double doors, and two four-centred doors with semi-circular fanlights are situated beneath a glazed window containing a quatrefoil within a square. The building has a plinth of coursed stone with rusticated quoins. The rear elevation dates to the 18th century. Numbers 24 to 8 (inclusive), Bishop's Gate, and King's Lodging form a visual group.
