Description
Nos 10 and 10A on Church Street in Peterborough are mid-19th century buildings that stand two storeys high, constructed from stone with a Welsh slate roof. The roof is behind a parapet that features oval piercings and elaborately moulded gable ends, which end in chimney stacks adorned with a cornice. The front and Cross Street elevations showcase a heavy cornice decorated with foliation and modillions. There are two dormers on the roof. The corners of the building are accentuated with rusticated quoins. On the first floor, there are two shallow canted bays, each with three lights and panelled bases, although they now contain modern glass. A central blank plaque with elaborately moulded edges is also present. The ground floor is fully occupied by modern shop fronts, and kneelers are visible at the gable ends.
