Description

This is a 17th-century house, later reworked in the 19th century, located on Campton Road in Gravenhurst. Originally a single dwelling, it is now subdivided into separate units. The house is timber-framed with red brick infill, although the front façade has been encased in red brick and is partially rendered. The roof is covered with clay tiles. The original layout comprised four rooms over two storeys and attics, with a one-storey and attic addition projecting from the rear east side. The two outer bays have 20th-century casement windows. The two central bays retain original cast iron lattice casements, with two windows on each of the ground and first floors, and one window in a gabled dormer. Gabled porches are present at the left-hand side and in the centre. These porches, along with the two dormers, feature wavy-edged bargeboards. A brick dentil eaves cornice runs along the roofline. A rendered stack is located along the multiple ridge, and an external brick stack is visible on the left-hand gable end.
