Description

40 High Street is an early 18th-century building constructed in local bond using grey headers dressed with red brick. It features an old tiled roof with a hipped dormer. The building has two storeys and attics, with three first-floor sash windows that have glazing bars set in wide frames, all positioned under flat arches. The ground floor includes a three-light bay window and a plain doorway that is sheltered by a continuous hood. To the right, there is a tall carriageway with a small window located above it. This property, along with Nos 34 to 40, forms a group.
