Description

This house, located at 36 Tebworth Road, dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century and has a 19th-century extension. It features a timber-framed structure with rendered brick and a slate roof. The building consists of a two-cell crosswing with a single bay added later to the east. It stands two storeys tall, with the extension raised from one and a half to two storeys.

The south elevation of the crosswing has a 20th-century door and metal-framed casements. The extension includes two-light 20th-century casements set under cambered arches. There are also side and rear 20th-century casements and fixed lights, along with a blocked original window on the upper floor. A central brick stack retains its bressumer on the north side.

Inside, the north-east quadrant features chamfered joists with run-out stops. The upper floor's north room, now subdivided, displays an exposed frame with arched braces supporting jowled posts. The door heads are chamfered, and there are possibly introduced 18th-century panelled doors. The clasped purlin roof has been partly reordered, likely with 19th-century rafters.
