Description

Hill Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick, with many flared bricks, and has roughcast render on the rear elevation. The roof is covered in 20th-century tiles. The house follows an H-plan, with a two-story main block and attic space, flanked by two-story cross-wings.

The northeast-facing front elevation features a central block with a three-light casement window with glazing bars under a cambered head on the ground floor, and three two-light casement windows on the first floor, the left-hand one being blind. A hipped dormer window with a two-light casement and glazing bars is located in the attic. A four-panel door with a rectangular fanlight is set below a flat, bracketed hood. The cross-wings have two blind windows on each floor; the ground-floor windows have cambered heads, and the attics have blind oculi. A brick dentil cornice runs along the eaves. Integral brick chimney stacks are present on the gable ends of the cross-wings and ridge stacks on the main block.

The southeast elevation has two three-light casement windows on the ground floor and two two-light casement windows on the first floor, all with glazing bars and cambered heads. Two hipped dormers, mirroring those on the front elevation, are also present.
