Description

The Rectory is a 17th-century building that has been altered over time. It features colour washed roughcast over a timber frame, sitting on a solid plinth, with an old clay tile roof and modern brick tops to two five-flued stacks. The building has a shallow H plan, with cross-wing gables at either end that project slightly forward on both long sides. It stands two storeys high with attics.

On the front (north) elevation, each cross-wing gable has one window on each of the three floors. The main wing includes a central 4-light window on the ground floor, flanked to the west by a 2-light window and to the east by a front door that is sheltered by a 19th-century two-storey porch with a hipped roof. There is a single 4-light window on the first floor. All windows are fitted with leaded lights, and most feature wooden mullions and transoms.

The rear (south) elevation displays three gables, each containing two ground floor sash windows with glazing bars. The central gable is slightly recessed and has a panelled front door set back in a panelled porch, topped with a pedimented hood on brackets. The first floor has two sash windows per gable, and the attic floor has one window, all with glazing bars. There is also a single-storey brick extension on the west end and a short length of brick garden wall extending east from the house.
