Description

The Bury is a 17th-century former farmhouse. It is constructed with colourwashed roughcast over a timber frame, and has an old clay tile roof. The building is arranged in an L shape with small extensions to the south and east. The main front block is two storeys high with attics. It features ground floor canted bay windows on either side of a central front door, which now has a modern porch. The first floor has three casement windows; the central window has leading to its lights, and there are five gabled dormers, also with casements, the central one mirroring the leaded lights below. The east elevation has a two-sided oriel window on the first floor. Attached to the east elevation is a wing constructed of similar materials, with a brick gable end and an external stack. This wing is one storey high with attics, and includes a gabled dormer with casement windows and glazing bars.
