Description
Old Priory House is a house dating from around 1600 and the 18th century, which was restored in the 20th century. It features a timber-framed construction, with the southern block having fairly close studding and red brick infill. The roofs are covered with clay tiles. The building is L-shaped, with two storeys and attics.
On the south elevation, there are two 3-light leaded casement windows on each floor. A red brick double ridge stack is present. The west elevation shows that the left-hand part of the rear block appears to be a later addition, with lighter framing. There is a variety of leaded casements of different sizes, mostly 2-light, with four on both the ground and first floors, and one in the attic of the main block. A red brick integral stack is located at the north gable end. A 20th-century gabled porch is situated to the left of the junction of the two wings, and there are also 20th-century two-storeyed gabled additions within the northeast angle.
