Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was formerly used as a rectory. It dates from the 17th century but was reworked in the 19th century. The building has a timber-framed construction, with the ground floor recased and partly rebuilt in brick, featuring colourwashed plaster infill and render. It has a 20th-century tile roof and is designed in a T-plan layout. The house is two storeys high, with the cross-wing being slightly lower. There is a 19th-century canted bay window on the ground floor of the left-hand cross-wing, while 20th-century casements are found elsewhere. A substantial external red brick chimney is located on the left-hand wall of the cross-wing, featuring paired diagonal stacks, and there is a red brick double ridge stack on the main block. Additionally, there is a substantial 20th-century addition at the right-hand end of the building.
