Description
This is a Dutch barn dating from the early 19th century, located about 30 metres northwest of Corner Farmhouse in Kensworth. The barn is timber-framed and features weatherboarding on a flint plinth at the rear. Its gable-ended roof is covered with corrugated iron sheets.
The barn has a plan consisting of three and a half bays, with an open front facing the yard to the east and a cartway in the northern bay. The east front has three and a half bays supported by thin timber posts on pads, with braces at both the top and bottom. The left side has a cartway, while the other bays are clad with corrugated sheets beneath the eaves.
At the rear, which faces the road, there is a tall flint plinth and a cartway to the right. Inside, the barn features unjowled posts with curved braces that are nailed to the faces of the tie-beams, and queen-struts that clasp the purlins above.
