Description

This is a late 18th-century building on Woburn Street. It is two storeys high and built of white brick. The eaves are deeply panelled and crafted from wood, supported by narrow, shaped modillions arranged in pairs, beneath a flat slate roof. The front door is made of six panels, four of which are fielded, with a fanlight featuring interlacing glazing bars, set within a simple wooden doorcase that has panelled reveals and a soffit. There are three sash windows with plain reveals. The ground rises with the hill, so the first floor is level with the garden at the rear. This has been treated with a pavilion-like design, which creates visual interest from the back.

The building forms a group with numbers 1 to 7 (odd), 11 to 15 (odd), and 21 to 37 (odd) on Woburn Street. Additionally, numbers 21 to 37 (odd) form a group with number 1 Chapel Lane.
