Description
Cardington Bridge is a bridge built in 1778, with inscriptions on the keystones that read "T. Smeaton, Eng."; "S.W. 1778" (for Samuel Whitbread); and "J. Green, Surv.". The structure is made of various types of brick, with stone keystones and parapet copings. It features five segmental arches and has cutwaters on both sides. The end piers of the parapet are topped with shallow stone pyramids.
